My High-Street Picks

I thought I’d put together a little high-street edit of all of the things that I’ve noticed lately. Whenever I’ve been out and about having a little browse of the shops recently I haven’t really been able to find anything I like, I think it’s probably because I’ve not been in the mood to try stuff on so I don’t really see the point in looking too hard. However, when I get home and I get to the point where I’m completely bored to death of watching my boyfriend play FIFA and uni work no longer has my attention; I have a little look online and voila! I find a whole of host of goodies. So here are a few:

Left to right: River Island dark red coated jeans, River Island paper bag waist skirt, Monki Paige tech case, Monki maroon vest singlet, Monki mint scarf, New Look side studded boots, Zara appliqué shouldered sweatshirt, Asos palm hand tee and Topshop faux leather skater skirt.

What are you coveting this month?

The Wishlist!

I don’t know about anyone else but I am finding it so difficult to think of what I want this christmas.I suppose it doesn’t help that my birthday is 10 days before and that means that I have to try and come up with double the amount and now that I have a lovely boyfriend and his family my list needs to be bigger than last year! Usually I would find this so easy as I always seem to buy things for myself and spot things that I like; maybe it’s trying not to sound like I’m expecting too much that’s holding me back? Anyway, here’s a little collection of some things that I have seen:

1. Daniella Draper personalised bangle

2. Peonies – My favourite.

3. Monica Vinader bracelet

4.Zara Edison jar – For my makeup brushes

5. Laura Mercier Ambre Vanille Honey bath

6. Urban Outfitters skinny heart bangle

7. John Lewis christmas spice candle

8. Charbonnel et Walker truffles

9. Lush Golden Wonder bath bomb

As you can see my list is miniature. What are you wishing for this christmas?

Monday Treats!

Today I spent the day with one of my wonderful friends, Gemma (you can see her beauty blog here!). I ventured into Wimbledon to see her and we went to a lovely little cafe for tea and cake (SO sickly) and then had a browse of the shops, I went with the intention of being a good girl and not buying anything. Unfortunately I was unable to resist buying something because I think that I’ve been pretty good in that department recently. I treated myself to a couple of things from H&M:

I’ve been eyeing the white t-shirt up for a while and finally decided to try it on; which inevitably led to me buying it. I love that it’s just a normal t-shirt fit and the collar makes it a little bit more special without you having to compromise on the fit or how comfortable it is plus it was a bargain at £14.99. The other top is a digital print shell top that was £19.99 and I’m still not 100% sure whether I’m going to keep it or not. The print is a bit more garish than one that I would usually pick but I think that it would look great with my shiny American Apparel leggings and a pair of wedges for a night out.

I also picked up these stacking rings whilst I was in H&M, I’ve been trying to find them for quite while in one of the Kingston stores but they’ve never had any. They were only £2.99 and I love them!

My final purchase was this nail polish in “oh la la”. It’s a nice pink shade with gold shimmers in it and as I am a little bit of a nail polish junkie I thought I’d give it a go. At £1.50 you can’t really go wrong; I’m going to try it out tonight so I will probably do a little review of it in a couple of days so keep your eyes peeled.

I’m selling my life on ebay again! I’ve had another little clear out of my wardrobe, unfortunately I only ship to the UK so if you’re not based here then I’m sorry.

Today I’m Wearing…

I thought I’d do a little outfit post before I head off to work this morning, seeing as I woke up with time to spare (which is always nice) and my boyfriend has already gone to work. I’m working at Oasis now in Kingston, not Topshop anymore. I was sad to leave and obviously sad to leave my uniform allowance behind but Oasis is lovely and I needed a change after 2 years.

Anyway, today I’m wearing my Oasis uniform and I absolutely love these Jade jeggings! So much so that I have them in blue as well as black; they’re so unbelievably comfy and I like how they do up like a jean and have pockets unlike a lot of jeggings. They’re quite expensive at £40 but I got mine with 75% off, saying that I probably would pay full price for them anyway! I’m also wearing this printed vest that I got on uniform too, it’s got a really nice back detailing (theres a open gap about 1/4 of the way down the back) which makes it a nice change from a plain, old, boring vest top.

Once again, my coat isn’t on google! And I thought I’d pop a photo up of the outfit as a whole:

NARS Treat

Recently I took the plunge and purchased one of Nars’ famous “multiple” sticks from ASOS. Makeup artists and women all over the world swear by this little stick and so many celebrities refer to it as one of their makeup bag staples including Made In Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh. The product can be used on eyes, lips and cheeks and incorporates both colour and highlighting; giving a lovely natural glow rather than a caked on look.

The Multiple in Orgasm

I really like the product although I haven’t quite worked out the best way to use it yet, being a cream-based product sometimes I find that it removes your foundation from the area you apply it to which can leave you looking a bit patchy. I think it would probably work best on top of a tinted moisturiser as then there is no dry product for it to remove and it will just leave a gorgeous, glossy sheen of colour. I look forward to using it more, maybe with a nice Nars tinted moisturiser *hint* *hint* after all christmas is coming!

Today I’m Wearing…

I was working at Topshop again today and decided to pull my maxi skirt out of the wardrobe and embrace my shortness! I teamed my black maxi skirt with my 3/4 length sleeve, breton striped Topshop tee and my dad’s old belt. I actually love wearing my maxi skirt now and just want to buy myself a whole collection, I don’t know what it is about them but they actually make me feel really girlie and feminine with the added comfort of knowing that a gust of wind isn’t going to expose your knickers to whole of the world. I’m hoping to be able to invest in a nice skirt with my Topshop uniform if any nice ones come up in the petite range. I wore my usual simple gold jewellery and gold watch (I like to know the time at work but not having a silver one too means that I neglect some of my beautiful silver jewellery) and then popped on some plain black ballet pumps for good measure and I was good to go. I might do another post about all of the wonderful maxi skirts I’ve seen lately, does anyone have any tips for making them work in winter too?

Outfit breakdown:

Today I’m Wearing…

The sun was shining in Kingston today and it was nice to venture out of the house knowing that I wouldn’t be needing an umbrella at any point. Today I wore jeans (mistake!) because as I was about to leave the house in my sun-dress the sky clouded over and I thought that I looked a little optimistic in a dress, however after being outside for around 5 minutes the sun had put his hat on again. Nightmare. Anyway, at least I was wearing a nice summery top which I bought from Topshop about a year ago, I love it because it’s a swing shape and a lovely shade of rose pink with a lace trim. It looks really nice with jeans and a cardigan over the top means that it’s nice for summer or winter. Me and Adam (the much spoken about boyfriend) went for lunch a local pub in Kingston called The Ram and sat outside in the sunshine whilst sipping on G&T’s and eating burgers and steak! It was so nice to be able to sit in the sunshine and have lunch rather than being confined to our flat whilst the rain pours outside. We then went for a little wander and picked up some ice creams for the walk home, I chose, the obvious classic, a twister and enjoyed every second of it.
