My High-Street Picks

I thought I’d put together a little high-street edit of all of the things that I’ve noticed lately. Whenever I’ve been out and about having a little browse of the shops recently I haven’t really been able to find anything I like, I think it’s probably because I’ve not been in the mood to try stuff on so I don’t really see the point in looking too hard. However, when I get home and I get to the point where I’m completely bored to death of watching my boyfriend play FIFA and uni work no longer has my attention; I have a little look online and voila! I find a whole of host of goodies. So here are a few:

Left to right: River Island dark red coated jeans, River Island paper bag waist skirt, Monki Paige tech case, Monki maroon vest singlet, Monki mint scarf, New Look side studded boots, Zara appliqué shouldered sweatshirt, Asos palm hand tee and Topshop faux leather skater skirt.

What are you coveting this month?

Monday Treats!

Today I spent the day with one of my wonderful friends, Gemma (you can see her beauty blog here!). I ventured into Wimbledon to see her and we went to a lovely little cafe for tea and cake (SO sickly) and then had a browse of the shops, I went with the intention of being a good girl and not buying anything. Unfortunately I was unable to resist buying something because I think that I’ve been pretty good in that department recently. I treated myself to a couple of things from H&M:

I’ve been eyeing the white t-shirt up for a while and finally decided to try it on; which inevitably led to me buying it. I love that it’s just a normal t-shirt fit and the collar makes it a little bit more special without you having to compromise on the fit or how comfortable it is plus it was a bargain at £14.99. The other top is a digital print shell top that was £19.99 and I’m still not 100% sure whether I’m going to keep it or not. The print is a bit more garish than one that I would usually pick but I think that it would look great with my shiny American Apparel leggings and a pair of wedges for a night out.

I also picked up these stacking rings whilst I was in H&M, I’ve been trying to find them for quite while in one of the Kingston stores but they’ve never had any. They were only £2.99 and I love them!

My final purchase was this nail polish in “oh la la”. It’s a nice pink shade with gold shimmers in it and as I am a little bit of a nail polish junkie I thought I’d give it a go. At £1.50 you can’t really go wrong; I’m going to try it out tonight so I will probably do a little review of it in a couple of days so keep your eyes peeled.

Today I’m Wearing

Today was the day that my boyfriend finally met my parents. After being together for 11 months and living together for 4 I guess it was about time. My parents drove to see us from Oxfordshire and went to a nice pub in Kingston for food and drinks, I am now sat at home in my PJ’s feeling about 2 stone heavier and trying not to be sick from the amount I ate. Seeing as it was my parents that we were entertaining I didn’t feel the need to dress up too much and after having such a busy week I didn’t really want to have to get up super early. So I opted for blue jeans, a pretty top and cardigan with ballet pumps. Perfect for a pub lunch in my opinion.

Again, I couldn’t find all of my outfit online so I took a separate snap. My grey cardigan was £18 from M&S.

I’m selling my life on ebay again! I’ve had another little clear out of my wardrobe, unfortunately I only ship to the UK so if you’re not based here then I’m sorry.

Today I’m Wearing…

I thought I’d do a little outfit post before I head off to work this morning, seeing as I woke up with time to spare (which is always nice) and my boyfriend has already gone to work. I’m working at Oasis now in Kingston, not Topshop anymore. I was sad to leave and obviously sad to leave my uniform allowance behind but Oasis is lovely and I needed a change after 2 years.

Anyway, today I’m wearing my Oasis uniform and I absolutely love these Jade jeggings! So much so that I have them in blue as well as black; they’re so unbelievably comfy and I like how they do up like a jean and have pockets unlike a lot of jeggings. They’re quite expensive at £40 but I got mine with 75% off, saying that I probably would pay full price for them anyway! I’m also wearing this printed vest that I got on uniform too, it’s got a really nice back detailing (theres a open gap about 1/4 of the way down the back) which makes it a nice change from a plain, old, boring vest top.

Once again, my coat isn’t on google! And I thought I’d pop a photo up of the outfit as a whole:

Today I’m wearing…I’m BACK!

I know I have been neglectful yet again, but I seem to be finding it really tricky to find the time to blog between working, going to uni, doing my uni work, cooking and cleaning and spending time with my boyfriend and friends! However, I have just started another blog for uni to do with journalisn and the online revolution; you can see it here if you’re interested. So I figured that I may find it easier to do this blog too as I will have to do that one anyway so why not do one that I find therapeutic too?

Anyway, today I have had a completely lazy day with my boyfriend as I’m working tomorrow and worked most of last week too. I’ve literally lounged around, playing on my mac, drinking tea and reading magazines as well as being forced to watch a bit of Star Wars. Today’s outfit reflects my day completely and I’m sure I will be bathed and in my PJ’s in no time!

I have missed out my coat as I couldn’t find it anywhere online so here it is:

Midi Madness

The midi skirt is something that I never thought I would like seeing as I’m rather lacking in the long legs department and sometimes a little fearful of new things; however midi skirts have stolen my heart this Spring. They seem to be popping up all over the high-street in a variety of shapes and gorgeous shades; I am especially partial to chiffon midi skirts as the fabric is so girlie and floaty which is ultimately what I love. I managed to bag myself a gorgeous black chiffon, waterfall shape midi skirt from Primark, of all places, for just £10 the other day (the only size left was a 14 and I just couldn’t leave without it but with a quick stitch in the waist it now fits perfectly). I plan  to wear it high-waisted with a black and gold belt and plain t-shirt for a really simple day look for my internship in June. The high-street has some wonderful midi skirts at the moment to channel that girlie vibe that was created on the catwalk by the likes of Louis Vuitton and Prada.

Here are some of my favourite midi skirts:

How will you wear yours?
